Mrs. Lacee Wick started dancing at the age of 5 to age 17 years old. She attended the Academy of Dance in Rapid City. She always regretted not going further with her dance career but life happened. She eventually found her love of dance again through her two beautiful girls. In the time of absence from dancing, Lacee earned her degree in cosmetology from Black Hills Beauty College and has been working as a cosmetologist for 17 years.
Lacee started dancing again at the age of 29 and began teaching in 2014. She has been teaching at Barefoot dance studio for the past 7 years and expanded her teaching for a year to Phillip and Wall, SD. Lacee has spent many summers dancing and assisting with several different dance productions. She danced in two different “Flutter Production” performances and also spent a week helping with a dance performance with the Barefoot Dance Team and the kids from “Lifescape” children’s hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. To further her knowledge of teaching dance Lacee spent a summer in Boston, MA to attend a “Bill Evan’s” teacher’s intensive. Lacee has also been to many dance Network conference’s and frequent ballet and modern classes over the past 10 years.
Lacee eventually got more involved with the Barefoot Dance Team. She began coaching in 2016 and now holds the team manager position. Lacee has choreographed many competition winning dances and plans on choreographing more! Lacee is also the owner of a dance boutique located inside Barefoot Dance Studio.
