About Miss Andrea

 

Andrea Muehl has ben dancing her entire life, growing up spending so much time in dance studios much like the one she runs now.  After graduating from the University of New Mexico with a BA in Dance, Andrea has recently returned to the Black Hills to share her love of dance.  She recently opened up Barefoot Dance Studios here in Rapid City where she teaches a variety of dance disciplines to all ages and abilities.  Andrea has been teaching dance for over a decade and has been dancing professionally for over six years.  Her professional experience has taken her to the Austrian Alps where she danced with Olympic skiers and the Red Bull Flying Team in a spectacle of machines and dance with the Austrian dance company, Lawine Torren.  She has also danced for international choreographers Esther Balfe of the Forsythe Company, Jonathan Kane of Finland’s Turku Conservatory, and Georg Blaschke of Vienna.  Here in the United States Andrea has danced with the renowned Bill Evans Dance Company, Donna Jewell Dance Company and Theatre, Keshet Dance Company, and Ecotone Physical Theatre. Her choreography was chosen twice to represent the University of New Mexico in the American College Dance Festival and she choreographed numerous pieces for public and private organizations.  Locally, She has danced for Dakota Dance Company, Dahl Artists Walk/Run and she has also been working with some of the Suzie Cappa Players at the Black Hills Workshop and was happy to be included in the player’s journey beyond their dance classroom and onto the stage in Black Hills Community Theatre’s production of Flutter. Andrea is thrilled to be starting her second year in business and absolutly loves her job!
